Democracy thrives in informed and educated society. It allows you choose whom and how you should be governed. I think it will be nice if we all contribute to making the rules for this community. The rules should be made by us, governed by us and obeyed by us.
It's true that without a defined landscape, a community like this cannot function well. So, we'll all have a sense of liberty and freedom of expression in this community.
Let me start by suggesting that we play by the following set of rules:
- It'll be nice for new members to register and introduce themselves before they start posting.
- After registering and logging in to the community, it'll be nice to fill out a detailed profile and present clean and accurate information of themselves.
- Community members will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, adult material, or otherwise in violation of any International or Nigerian law.
- Community members will not post any copyrighted material unless they own the copyright or they have written consent from the owner of the copyrighted material.
- We'll forbid spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations.
- Community members will criticize only constructively and objectively.
- Community members will support that the Global Moderator or other Moderators should remove any information that is determined to be inaccurate or vulgar in nature.
These are the few rules I have in mind. Please, share your views if you have more rules that we should add or if you think we should remove any of the rules above.
It's our community, so let's make it work for us.
